Roy Keane highlighted a characteristic that Manchester United lacked during their derby defeat to Man City as two first-half goals sealed the three points for Pep Guardiola's side.
An Eric Bailly own-goal and Bernardo Silva's poked effort from a tight angle proved to be the difference in a 2-0 win as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's disappointing run at home continues.
A catalogue of errors contributed to City's win and if David de Gea had not made a flurry of saves in both halves the scoreline could have made for worse reading from a Reds standpoint.
Speaking before the game, Keane issued a rallying cry discussing derby games and how they differed to the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.
" United players have to show good performances and the players need to keep fans on side," he said.
"This is why you sign for United. These are the days that you should live for as a United player. Derby day at home. Try to get some momentum in the season. These are the games I really miss.
"I miss this game as much as anything so give it everything you have and see where it takes you."
The defeat sees United stay fifth but if results go against them they could slump to as low as 10th as City rise to second at Liverpool's expense and hand Solskjaer his third home defeat of the season.
