Roy Keane destroys Manchester United player Fred after Man City defeat

Roy Keane has taken aim at Manchester United midfielder Fred after his part in Manchester City's second goal in their 2-0 win at Old Trafford.

Bernando Silva opened the scoring after 54 minutes before Leroy Sane ensured the three points 12 minutes later.

Keane was part of Sky Sports' coverage of the game and he laid into Fred for his role in Sane's goal. The United midfielder gave away the ball before failing to make the tackle to break up the attack.

The former Manchester United captain said: “Look at Fred for the goal. That’s not giving your all.

"It’s cheating. What he done was cheating, letting the guy run off him."

He added: “Fred sells himself short. He gives the ball away which can happen, but you do not let Sterling get goalside of you. You’re in trouble from there. Why aren’t there players trying to stop the shots!

"Darmian jogs back. If that’s a Manchester United playing giving his all then Man Utd are in even bigger trouble than I think, and I think they’re in huge trouble.

Gary Neville claims Paul Pogba wants to leave Manchester United - and agent is to blame

"It’s two yards! Gary, do you think if you were doing the same we’d tell you off. It’s two yards, of course we would.

"If the guy gets a shot away, fair enough, but...Get out to him like your life depends on it."

Hie fellow pundit Gary Neville was on hand to offer an excuse for the Brazilian.

“He’ll skip into challenges, get beat, people will go past him, sometimes he will win it, sometimes he won’t.

"For me, watching Fred all season, he commits into challenges, gets beat and he can’t get back and recover. He’s not got the legs. That’s what he is.
