Roy Keane delivers brutal put-down to Tottenham full-backs Serge Aurier and Danny Rose

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane had branded Tottenham's full-backs Serge Aurier and Danny Rose 'dumb and dumber'.

The pair both started in their side's defeat to Liverpool yesterday afternoon - and both struggled up against Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson down either flank.

Despite taking the lead through Harry Kane after just 49 seconds, Jordan Henderson restored parity at the start of the second half before Aurier brought down Sadio Mane inside the box with Mohamed Salah converting the penalty to complete the turnaround.

And Keane was left less than impressed with what he witnessed from the pair.

"The two Tottenham full-backs were dreadful. Dumb and Dumber, I'd call them. I thought they were really poor. You can't compare them to Liverpool, the two lads who are absolutely fantastic," Keane told Sky Sports post-match.

"Particularly going forward, okay defensively there's parts of the games they can improve on, but going forward they're absolutely fantastic."

But fellow pundit Gary Neville offered a defence for the duo, pointing to the fact Christian Eriksen and Heung-Min Son failed to offer the necessary support needed from a defensive prospect.

"I didn't think they were helped by the narrowness," Neville added. "Eriksen and Son in those wide areas - Son did it a lot better than Eriksen.

"Eriksen didn't want to be there, so it just opened up the pass all the way and they were exposed."
