Roy Keane and Jurgen Klopp exchanged a few words live on Sky Sports last night after the 3-1 win against Arsenal.
The Reds boss took umbrage with a reference to "sloppy" moments during the performance.
But during the Monday Night Football broadcast, Keane did offer some positive takes on the Liverpool team.
After winning their first Premier League title last season and the Champions League the year before that, there were plenty speculating that the Reds' hunger to have sustained success may wane.
Yet they got their campaign off to a perfect start with wins over Leeds United and Chelsea ahead of Monday night's victory against Arsenal.
Speaking on Sky, the former Manchester United captain says he likes what he has seen from t hem so far.
Keane argued that he can still see hunger from Liverpool and has backed them to retain their title.
“I like what I see with Liverpool," he sai d. "I know in their first game, they were sluggish, but they still scored four goals.
"They went down to Chelsea, I know they had a man sent off, but it felt like Chelsea had four men sent off.
"I always look at teams that have had a little bit of success over the last year, I always look at their hunger and for me, after the first couple of games, just looking at Liverpool, besides their quality, it looks like they are going full steam ahead to get that title back."
But all of this is a far cry from Keane's take on the Reds earlier on in Klopp's tenure.
Back in November 2017, he said on ITV: "It's hard to figure out Liverpool at the moment. It's hard to get excited about them. To me, they are going nowhere fast.
"They're neat and tidy, but defensively...come the end of the season when the prizes are being given out, Liverpool will be nowhere near them.

"If Liverpool were playing out in my back garden, I wouldn't watch them. They're just drifting. Drifting nowhere."
In fairness to Keane, he highlighted issues "at the back" and "question marks over the goalkeeper" - all of which was before the signings of Alisson and Virgil van Dijk.
But as for going "nowhere fast"? Since those comments were made, Liverpool have drifted all the way to become European, World and Premier League champions as Klopp has continued to develop his project.
And Keane does believe the Reds will be celebrating once again next May.
Asked last night if he expects Liverpool to win the title, he said: “Yep. (Pause) I have to say that now after Klopp had a go at me!”
