Roy Keane Celtic manager link sparks hilarious Micah Richards 'packed my bags' quip

Roy Keane is being linked with the Celtic job and it is understood that he is hopeful of becoming the next Hoops manager.

The former Republic of Ireland captain would be a blockbuster appointment to replace Neil Lennon as the club look to a new era following a tumultuous campaign at Parkhead.

It's got everyone talking, and that includes Keane's Sky Sports sidekick Micah Richards, reports The Daily Record.

The former Manchester City defender has a love-hate on-air relationship with Keane as the duo regularly clash over the hot topics on the Premier League.

However, Richards seems keen to take that fiery relationship from the studio to Glasgow's east end.

On a report detailing Keane's interest in the Celtic hot seat, he said: "I’ve just packed my bags!!! Scotland here we come."

It even brought a reaction out of former Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam.

The Dundee ace added: "Stay in the studio big man. Theres a change of the guard in Scotland now."

With speculation mounting over a return to the club for Keane, after a brief playing spell at Celtic Park, it would be another bizarre twist in the tale if Richards made the move north as assistant boss.
