Roy Keane can't believe what Son Heung-min did before his goal against Manchester United

Son Heung-min was in the thick of the first-half action for Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester United.

The South Korea international marked his return to the Spurs starting XI with a goal to break the deadlock shortly before half-time, tapping home from close range following a ball across the face of goal.

However, prior to netting against the Red Devils, Son was involved in an incident that has left United legend Roy Keane unimpressed.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side thought they had opened the scoring minutes earlier when Paul Pogba slid in Edinson Cavani to roll the ball through the legs of Hugo Lloris.

But Jose Mourinho's side breathed a huge sigh of relief when the goal was disallowed following a VAR check.

Son was adjudged to have been caught in the face by Scott McTominay in the build up to Cavani's effort and therefore the striker's effort was disallowed.

Much to the amazement of Keane who not only believed it was not a foul in Spurs' favour but also branded Son 'embarrassing for rolling around on the floor.

"I’m amazed, really, I have to say. If that’s a foul, we should all go home, it’s really bizarre," he said on Sky Sports. "For a player like Son, to roll around like that, it’s embarrassing. Cavani’s movement is fantastic. That cannot be a foul, it’s not just Son - to be fair, Rashford did it 10 minutes earlier, both centre-forwards rolling around screaming.

"The referee is under huge pressure, they’re doubting every decision they make now. I think he’s got this wrong."

Fellow Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards agreed with Keane.

"It’s embarrassing, this is not football anymore, I know we have a laugh and a joke and all that, but this is spoiling our game. I can’t recognise the game anymore," he added. "If this is a foul, Roy’s right, we might as well go home now. It’s an absolutely ridiculous decision.

"It’s spoiling football, the fact that Chris Kavanagh can go and look at it again, I know VAR put doubt in his mind and the players didn’t help him which is unacceptable."
