Roy Keane 'blanked' for Celtic job as Ange Postecoglou strongly linked with Hoops role

Roy Keane has been 'blanked' by Scottish giants Celtic, according to reports.

Sun journalist Alan Nixon says the former Republic of Ireland star was interested in the vacancy but hasn't been considered by the Scottish Premiership side.

Keane has had almost a decade out of the managerial hot seat, with his last managerial role coming at Ipswich in 2011, reports The Chronicle.

The 49-year-old has worked as an assistant at Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and most recently with the Republic of Ireland national team.

The Hoops are still trying to fill the managerial void left by Neil Lennon, who resigned back in February.

Negotiations broke down with Eddie Howe and former Australia boss Ange Postecoglou is now being strongly linked with the Hoops role.

Celtic finished 25 points behind Steven Gerrard's Rangers side who romped to the SPFL title.
