Roy Keane and Patrice Evra send Manchester United January transfer window message

Former Manchester United stars Roy Keane and Patrice Evra have sent January transfer window messages after the 2-0 loss to Liverpool.

It has been confirmed that Marcus Rashford will be out for several weeks due to a back injury and now Evra and Keane say United have now been left in a tough situation.

Evra has explained that the Reds should have replaced Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez following their summer exits and now he says there is even more of a need to sign a new forward.

Evra told Sky Sports: "Even before that when Lukaku and Sanchez left, we didn’t replace them. So I’m not waiting for the injury to Marcus (Rashford) to say ‘buy now another striker’.

"We should have done that months ago. I’m not so okay with the board right now but I don’t know. I know that when you’re trying to win the league you need four best strikers. Actually, we have Martial so yes I’m a little worried."

Keane then explained: "It’s bad news on the back of a bad result. Rashford has been a brilliant player for United and I’m always intrigued when teams are talking about signing strikers. Where do they think they are going to get strikers in January? There aren't many top strikers out there. They are having a difficult spell, they will have to get through it but that’s a big blow."
