Roy Keane and Micah Richards make Newcastle relegation prediction after dismal campaign

Both Roy Keane and Micah Richards have tipped Newcastle for the drop after a dismal start to the season.

On Sky Bet's Micah Richards and Roy Keane Driving Home for Christmas the duo discussed the three sides they thought would be relegated from the Premier League.

The duo believe Norwich City and Southampton will join the Magpies in the Championship next season, despite there being plenty of points still to play for.

As things stand, the Magpies remain second bottom of the Premier League with their relegation rivals having games in hand on them as a result of the recent Covid-19 outbreak.

Although there's been an upturn in Newcastle's fortunes since the arrival of Eddie Howe, the new Magpies boss has managed just one win in his tenure so far.

January will prove to be a pivotal month for the Toon as they eye a number of defensive reinforcements.

Nonetheless, Richards and Keane don't think it'll be enough for Premier League survival.

Former Manchester City defender Richards asked: "Who do you think does down, this is tough isn't it?"

Keane replied: "The three to go down? Lets go for it. I'm going to say Norwich and I'm going to say Newcastle."

Richards interjected: "Southampton."

Keane replied: "Yeah, but they're the type of side who can win two on the bounce at home and lose seven away.

"I'm going to say between Southampton and Watford, but even then, Burnley's points total.

"Burnley can be one of those teams where, because they've got out of it before you automatically think they'll get out of it, and they don't."
