Roy Keane admits concerns over "tiny" Dean Henderson as Liverpool run riot at Man Utd

Roy Keane has admitted his doubts at whether Dean Henderson is the long-term answer to Manchester United's goalkeeping conundrum.

Henderson has usurped David de Gea as the Red Devils' No.1 in recent weeks but came in for criticism on Thursday night after Liverpool's 4-2 win at Old Trafford.

The former Sheffield United shot-stopper was at fault for the Reds' third goal as he shovelled Trent Alexander-Arnold's goal-bound effort straight to Roberto Firmino for the Brazilian to score his second of the evening.

And he was flat-footed in his six-yard box as Mohamed Salah made the points safe late in the game, allowing the Egyptian a huge portion of the goal to aim at as he finished the one-on-one opportunity.

Keane was honest in his assessment of the England goalkeeper after the game, admitting he doubts whether the Old Trafford academy product has the 'presence' to be the club's No.1 long term.

“He looks so small in the goals, that's my worry [over] Henderson," the Irishman told Sky Sports.

“He has a good mentality, good temperament and is good with his feet, but I've seen a few goals go in recently where he looks so small in the goals. He looked tiny there for the fourth goal.

“He has been given a run of games. Tonight he may look at it and go 'it's not my best night', but he needs a run of games.

“They can't go back to De Gea, I don't think that's the final answer either. He [Henderson] is going to make mistakes of course, but my worry is his presence.

“He looks so small, which is a big concern going forward.”
