Roy Keane accuses Arsenal stars of "lacking respect" for Mikel Arteta after Man Utd win

Roy Keane has claimed that some of Arsenal's players "lack respect" for Mikel Arteta following their win over Manchester United.

The Gunners ended their 14-year Old Trafford hoodoo on Sunday, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's penalty earning them all three points.

After failing to score in the league since the opening day of the season, Aubameyang coolly converted from the spot after a Paul Pogba foul.

It's a win that lifts Arsenal into the top-half, while piling even more pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's struggling United side.

But after the win, former Red Devils skipper Roy Keane took aim at a number of Arteta's players for what he perceived as a lack of respect in post-match interviews.

After the game, Aubameyang said: "It was a very tough night but I’m really happy because the team did very well. It’s been a long time since we won here.

"We knew we had to score after having opportunities in the first half. And then we had the penalty. We work a lot with our penalties in training so we are pretty confident.

"The team did a great job. Everyone was giving their best that’s why we won. We knew since the beginning that we had to trust the process. Mikel is bringing something very nice and we have to follow."

And Keane took exception to the fact that the Arsenal skipper referred to his manager by first name, rather than by a title.

“They didn’t show him respect when they called him Mikel,” Keane told Sky Sports. “He’s the manager or the boss or the gaffer.

“That is respect, not Mikel, he is not your mate.

“It’s called respect.”

Arteta meanwhile, heaped praise on his team, after they won at the Theatre of Dreams for the first time since Arsene Wenger guided the Gunners to a win in 2006.

"I didn’t want to tell the players we didn’t win here in 14 years, I kept it quiet," he revealed.

"The team you saw tonight is where we’re starting to be. I am proud, to show the personality to play against this team at Old Trafford, I’m delighted with the win."
