Roy Jones Jr.: LeBron James is one of the best specimens basketball has ever seen

For the first time in 13 seasons, a LeBron James team did not make the playoffs.

The Lakers season started going downhill with a 127-101 win over the Golden State Warriors. Kyle Kuzma leading the way with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and an assist, but Los Angeles would lose LeBron with a groin injury that would sideline him for 17 straight games. LeBron’s absence in the playoffs was felt throughout the entire postseason as analysts tried to anoint a new ‘Best in the World.’

Numerous NBA insiders and analysts discussed who was the best player in the league between Kevin Durant before he went down and  then to Kawhi Leonard, while others still gave the title to James. But because James wasn’t in the playoffs, he didn’t cross the mind of most.

Enter former heavyweight champion, Roy Jones Jr. was interviewed before the fight between Jermell Charlo vs. Jorge Cota in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay. Per Cameron Buford of Voice of the Fans, Jones brought up LeBron James when discussing the definition of the phrase ‘pound for pound.’

When you say pound for pound that means you have the best right hand or you have the best defense. That means you can do everything if you can’t do everything you are not the best pound for pound. Why do think they say LeBron James is one of the best pound for pound basketball players? Because he can do everything he may have a hard time with the big shots at the end of the game, but everything else he can do. Everything else he can do immaculate, he is one of the best specimens that basketball has ever seen, and he can do it all.

As for LeBron James, he did not spend his time this postseason just sitting on the couch, he spent it working out at the Lakers facility and prepping for Space Jam 2 the sequel to the 1995 movie that featured Michael Jordan.  LeBron has already gotten to work on the basketball court he will be training on during the filming of the movie.
