Roy Hodgson surprised Wilfried Zaha suitors aren’t ‘knocking on the door’ to sign Crystal Palace star

Roy Hodgson is surprised Crystal Palace do not have more clubs banging on their door with big-money offers for Wilfried Zaha.

There has been more speculation this summer linking Zaha with a move and the Ivory Coast winger has made no secret of his desire to test himself at a higher level.

Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco are reported to have shown an interest in Zaha but Palace have yet to receive an official approach.

Asked about the ongoing saga about Zaha’s future, Hodgson said: "It is a little bit frustrating. It would be nice to have Wilf with us without this cloud that hangs over him - is he really going to stay with us or are we going to have to wave goodbye to him?

"I am surprised that we do not get more people knocking on our door who are willing to pay a sensible price for him because I think he is such a good player.

“And I think he finds it frustrating sometimes that we are not having to turn down offers every single day from some of the top clubs in the country and the world because he thinks he has the ability to play there and I think so too.

“But all the time he is with us working with me I am delighted. I enjoy working with him enormously, admire his talent and of course he helps us win football matches.”
