Roy Hodgson names Man City's surprising greatest strength

Roy Hodgson has named Manchester City's greatest strength, but it's not what you would perhaps expect.

Crystal Palace are preparing to welcome City to Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and the points difference between the two sides in the table suggests it could all be one-way traffic.

It's also worth noting, when the teams last met in January, City won 4-0 at the Etihad, and that was an impressive display with John Stones, Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling all getting on the scoresheet.

Pep Guardiola will have one eye on the Blues' upcoming midweek clash against PSG in the Champions League, though, and it's likely the Blues boss will heavily rotate the team that triumphed in Paris on Wednesday night.

Under Guardiola's stewardship, City have become synonymous with swashbuckling, possession-based football, but Palace boss Hodgson, speaking on Friday, admitted it was actually another quality that he's been most impressed by this season.

"Technically they are outstandingly good. But I think the thing that impresses me perhaps more than that is the work-rate. I think it's quite amazing," Hodgson said.

"In the past, traditionally, your talented players are the ones who quite often don't do as much running as you'd perhaps like them to do; don't make as many unselfish runs for the team as perhaps you'd like them to do.

"Unfortunately for all of us who play Man City, Pep Guardiola's got a team that does all of those things."
