Roy Hodgson insists Wilfried Zaha is going nowhere after match-winning display at Arsenal

Roy Hodgson watched Wilfried Zaha destroy Arsenal then insisted: He’s not going anywhere.

Zaha’s outstanding performance had come just 24 hours after his revelation that he feels ready to quit Crystal Palace for a Champions League club.

But Hodgson - who watched his men bag their fifth away League win in six - said: “He is on a four-year contract.

“He is one our highest-paid players and he is adored by everyone in South east London.

“So as far I am concerned I am looking forward to working with him for many years to come. But life throws things up and we will see what happens.”

Unai Emery insists he did NOT disrespect Crystal Palace after Eagles beat Arsenal

Christian Benteke headed his first goal in a year after 17 minutes to put Palace in front.

Mesut Ozil hit back with a stylish finish just 90 seconds after the restart to seemingly put Emery’s side on course for a seventh win in all competitions from their last eight.

But Man of the Match Wilfried Zaha put Palace back in front on 61 minutes and James McArthur headed a third nine minutes later.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rifled in a second for Arsenal with 13 minutes left but the Gunners could not find the equaliser.

Hodgson added: “That was a very satisfying performance. We knew that we had have to give a really good performance.

"We knew that our defending had to be top notch right through to the 95th, 96th minutes - and that when we got that space we could take advantage.

“We carried that threat from the two front players. The midfield four and the back four were excellent and were able to reduce the chances that Arsenal were able to create.”
