Roy Hodgson confirms Crystal Palace's transfer stance over Patrick van Aanholt amid PSV links

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Patrick van Aanholt is not for sale ahead of the January transfer window deadline.

The Dutchman has been linked with a move to PSV Eindhoven, amid reports from Holland that the Eredivisie side had identified the former Sunderland man as a top target for a problem position.

Sky Sports reported over the weekend that PSV Eindhoven had made a bid for the Palace full-back, who has 18 months left on his current contract with the Eagles.

The report claimed that the bid was around €5million (£4.2million), which Palace were set to reject, with Dutch publication Voetbal International claiming that Palace would not consider selling for less than €10million.

Everything you need to know about the January transfer window

And Hodgson was asked about the reports as he faced the media ahead of Crystal Palace's clash with Sheffield United in the Premier League this weekend.

In reply, the Palace boss simply said van Aanholt was not for sale.

Van Aanholt has not featured for Palace since the 1-0 win against AFC Bournemouth in early December, when he picked up a hamstring injury.

However, Hodgson confirmed that he was in contention to feature this weekend against Sheffield United after recovering from his injury, along with Joel Ward, Andros Townsend and Christian Benteke.
