Roxanne Pallett has said that she can relate to Meghan Markle.
The former Emmerdale actress, 37, caused public outrage when she falsely accused Corrie's Ryan Thomas of punching her in the ribs when they were inside the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2018.
After she made the shocking 'punchgate' allegations, footage showed Ryan had in fact been play fighting with her.
The public turned against the TV actress - which she believes links her to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry .
Roxanne says she identifies with the couple - after they announced earlier this year that they are standing down as senior Royals and are splitting their time between England and Canada - because she went travelling across America as she felt unwanted in the UK after CBB.
“I didn’t feel welcome in England. I was hounded, ridiculed and vilified for over a year,” she says told Closer magazine .
She added that she felt "exiled" and that “the country was against her".
Roxanne explained that she is proud of Harry and Meghan as she shared: “In a way, I can understand why Meghan left. I’m so happy she’s had the inner strength to say, ‘I’m not happy here, let’s make a change.’ I’d encourage anyone who is going through a tough time to have faith that things can turn around as they have for me.”
At the start of the year Roxanne married New York-born firefighter Jason Carrion.
The couple decided to tie the knot in a secret ceremony in front of close friends in the Big Apple.
Roxanne has described her 33-year-old hubby as her "perfect man".
Speaking to The Mirror , Roxanne said: "It was the most perfect day saying 'I do' to the most perfect man I've spent my life praying for.
She shared ahead of their honeymoon: "We are now going to a spa retreat to relax before J returns to full duty at the firehouse."
