Since his 1995 sitcom The Thin Blue Line, Rowan Atkinson's career has been in decline - creatively if not financially - with the mega Mr Bean franchise and movie cameos such as Love, Actually failing to live up to his early work on Not The Nine O'Clock News and Blackadder. Rowan Atkinson Live dates from well before he sold out to Hollywood and offers a snapshot of the Britcom star in his pomp. Recorded in Boston in 1991 and featuring Angus Deayton as straight man, the DVD features classic sketches, with skits like the public school-mocking Fatal Beatings holding up well 17 years on.
