Rovin' bovines: Watch as cows mysteriously appear at bus stop in Lanarkshire town

Residents of Blantyre were udder-ly bewildered yesterday when a herd of cows appeared at a bus stop on Bardykes Road.

Motorists and householders couldn't believe their eyes when three of the farm animals were spotted in one part of the street and another seven further along the road, near to the West End Bar.

Locals also reported seeing a young bull on the loose in Greenhall Park.

A farmer was also seen trying to round up the escapees and get them back to their field.

However, police were eventually called to assist in moo-ving the animals along.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.25pm on Tuesday, August 10, officers were called to a report of cows loose on Bardykes Road, Blantyre. The farmer attended and the cows were returned to their field."

Here at Lanarkshire Live we're just wondering if the animals were trying to catch a bus to Cow-denbeath!
