Rough Trade Bristol announces Record Store Day 2023 line-up

Bristol-based independent record store company Rough Trade has announced its live-in store line-ups and collaborations ahead of Record Store Day 2023.

On April 22, music lovers can head down to Rough Trade's store on Nelson Street to hear live performances from a variety of artists from 12pm until 8pm. Performers will include The Tallest Man On Earth, Phoria and Wych Elm, among others.

Dylan Whatley, events assistant for Rough Trade, said: “We cannot wait to welcome a great variety of artists to Rough Trade Bristol this RSD. We look to curate a local focus where we can, so we're thrilled bands like Wych Elm and Getdown Services are on the bill. It's going to be another amazing day for both locals and visitors, there's something for all.”

On Record Store Day, customers can also expect exclusive merchandise and a bespoke beer. Rough Trade has collaborated with British artist James Jarvis to design a t-shirt and tote bag that will be made available at stores nationwide.

Jarvis began his career drawing adverts for Slam City Skates, an East London skateboard store, in the early 90s and is best known for his character-based artwork.

In addition, London-based brewery Signature Brew and Rough Trade have collaborated on a bespoke beer, which will be available on the day.

Record Store Day, first celebrated in 2008, is an annual event which aims to support the culture of independently owned record stores. It brings fans, artists and record store employees together for a day filled with live music performances and exclusive releases to celebrate the unique culture.

“It's always a great day, a celebratory atmosphere and there's always a new band or artist to discover.
