Rotoworld names Kenyan Drake as a prominent breakout candidate

Talent has never been the problem for Miami Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake. From the moment Drake stepped on the gridiron in Miami, it was easy to see that he had all the tools needed to be a total headache for the competition.

There has been slow, steady progress in Drake’s production — but to this point he’s been more potential than anything else? Some of the problems were well beyond his control — such as former coach Adam Gase’s preference for a true hammer-style back in Frank Gore. Drake did a little too much finesse in the backfield for Gase to fully get behind him as the team’s starting back.

But now, with Gase out of the picture, it may finally be time to see Drake reach his potential. It’d be a timely breakout, considering this is Drake’s final season under contract with the Dolphins.

While the national media isn’t heaping praise in the direction of the Dolphins and the expectation is that the team is going to struggle this year, the same skepticism can’t be said for Drake. The latest example? Rotoworld has pegged Kenyan Drake as a prominent breakout candidate in 2019. Why? Because first and foremost, Gase is out of the picture.

“(Drake) is finally out from under the thumb of Adam Gase,” said analyst Ray Summerlin. “Adam Gase hates him more than he hates pictures of his eyes at the press conference! Adam Gase hated Kenyan Drake.”
