Rotherham United close to Hakeem Odoffin deal as Hamilton Accies receive 'significant offer'

Rotherham United are closing in on a deal to sign Hamilton Accies star Hakeem Odoffin.

The English League side have seen several bids rejected this summer but a verbal agreement has been reached and Rotherham have been granted permission to speak to Odoffin according to Scott Burns.

A high-level club source confirmed that a 'significant offer' had been made and the deal is likely to be signed off in the next few hours.

Odoffin has been a revelation since joining Accies last summer and the 23-year-old flourished after Brian Rice converted him into a defensive midfielder.

The former Livingston man agreed a contract extension last season but interest in the player intensified after Accies were relegated to the Championship.

Hibernian, Motherwell and other English clubs have all registered an interest in Odoffin but he's set to move to the Millers.

The Englishman has missed Accies' last three games and although he has returned to training this week, he's expected to travel south to complete a medical when personal terms are agreed.
