Paul Warne felt it would not have been fair if Bolton Wanderers had got something out of the game against his Rotherham United side as he admitted he sensed the encounter could be a banana skin for his side after admitting they overdid their training in the build-up.
Wanderers put in a good performance at the New York Stadium and created decent chances and stood up to the pressure put on them by the Millers.
Michael Smith put the Millers ahead in the first half but Eoin Doyle - who is the subject of speculation that he might be leaving Bolton in the January transfer window - equalised for Wanderers shortly after.

Smith headed the Millers in front after the break, but Wanderers could have got something out of the encounter as Harry Brockbank blazed over in stoppage time and Dapo Afolayan fired over from close range with the last kick of the game.
Warne admits his side were not at their best against a 'really good' Bolton team, but that justice would not have been served if his team had not taken all three points.
The Millers boss told the club website: "I didn’t think we were at our best, but against a really good Bolton team. I thought they were really good. I know they’ve come through their problems, they’re desperate to play as they’ve not played in weeks and I thought first half was pretty even.
“I’m obviously disappointed with the goal we conceded. It doesn’t normally go in and I thought we were the better side first half. We put loads of crosses in, but fair play to Bolton as they defended the set pieces really well, I don’t think we got any first contacts, but then second half I thought we were really good and a bit more like us and obviously got the lead.
“The last two minutes, we could have lost it, we could have drawn it, but we managed to win it and I just felt today, from the moment I got here, I just felt that it was an absolute banana skin and it’s the classic saying, but I did feel like that. I didn’t think the lads trained that well yesterday, but that’s my fault.
"I just felt it and we didn’t have great game management in the last five minutes and they could have took a point off us today which I don’t think would have been fair. I thought we were the better team but sometimes fair does not win.
“I’m lucky today. I stand here as a lucky manager as we’ve won because we could have drawn. For the first 90 minutes we were the better team, for the last six we weren’t."
