Ross Pierschbacher finds himself at home in Washington around Alabama alumni

You man not be able to properly pronounce or spell his name, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore his path to being on the Washington Redskins.

With the 153rd pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Washington selected Ross Pierschbacher, an offensive lineman out of the University of Alabama. Pierschbacher is just another in a long line of Alabama alumni that have found a home with the Redskins.

Three of the Redskins’ first round picks on the roster are Roll Tide alumni, and when you factor in the addition of all-pro safety Landon Collins to the secondary, Washington is essentially Alabama North.

“I thought I escaped those guys, and I’m coming right back,” Pierschbacher said, of Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen, via Redskins.com. “Also, Ryan Anderson off the edge and Shaun Dion [Hamilton] in the middle. It’ll be a lot of fun during practice and I’m looking forward to going against those guys again – a reunion.”

The transition from college to the pros is often difficult for rookies. However, with Pierschbacher finding himself surrounded by so many familiar faces, it has to feel just like home.
