Ross Noble reveals he was recognised while getting a vasectomy

Ross Noble has revealed the most awkward place he’s ever been recognised – and it was right before having a vasectomy.

The comedian, 49, shared the cringey encounter on Heart Breakfast with Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston this morning.

“I’ll tell you the weirdest place I’ve ever been recognised was not out in the middle of nowhere. I was literally about to have the snip,” he told the hosts.

Ross then continued, saying the fan tried to have a conversation with him, despite the circumstances.

“I was lying there on the hospital bed, and the fella just went ‘oh, it’s you’ and then he goes ‘my mate has just started doing stand-up,’” he added.

“Oh my God,” Amanda exclaimed.

“And I’m just thinking, I’m sorry but this is not the time when my gentleman’s area is about to be operated on,” Ross replied.

And it isn’t the first time Ross has been recognised in a medical setting.

He previously told the Guardian he was asked by a paramedic to do his Stephen Hawking impersonation when he broke his wrist.

“The ambulance turned up with this older paramedic and a younger guy,” he told the paper.

“The younger guy said to me, ‘Do your Stephen Hawking impersonation!’ Can I not?

“Can I not be performing for drugs, please? But I did and he went, “Right, we’ll get you some morphine.”

Earlier this year, the comedian was forced to postpone several upcoming shows after being hospitalised with a kidney infection.

He shared the update with his Instagram followers alongside a photo from his hospital bed.

In the image, Ross can be seen giving a thumbs-up, with a cannula inserted into his hand.

Explaining the situation, he said he had been advised by doctors to rest and would miss several dates from his Cranium of Curiosities tour.

Luckily, Ross - who lives in Australia - is back touring now, and will be performing at venues across the UK over the next couple of months.

Listen to Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden weekdays from 06:30 – 10:00 across the UK and on Global Player.
