Ross McCrorie earns huge chance as Rangers loan star faces Arsenal FA Cup test

Rangers loanee Ross McCrorie has earned a huge opportunity to impress against Arsenal in the FA Cup.

The Scotland U21 skipper starts at right-back after an injury hit season on the south coast.

He's likely to be directly up against highly-rated Brazilian youngster Gabriel Martinelli for Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta going for a more youthful look to his Gunners side.

McCrorie has played in huge games for Rangers against the likes of Celtic and Aberdeen but this is his biggest in English football so far.

His loan spell has been mixed so far with some good performances but he's also struggled with hamstring injuries as well as disciplinary problems.

He's picked up five bookings in his 19 appearances and was sent off on his debut against Shrewsbury back in August.

That led to a spell on the bench and his form also took a hit as he struggled to get regular game time.

He returned to Rangers in January to undergo treatment for his hamstring problem and flew to Dubai with the rest of Steven Gerrard's squad.

The 21-year-old made his return from injury on February 15 in the 2-0 win over Shrewsbury but has started just two out of the four games they've played since.

The versatile 21-year-old made 30 appearances for Rangers last season and was on the losing end just once in a 2-1 defeat to Celtic in March.

He also made an appearance in goal in the 1-0 victory over Hibs in May after Allan McGregor was sent off late on.
