Ross McCrorie bids emotional Rangers farewell as midfielder explains Aberdeen switch

New Aberdeen signing Ross McCrorie says he'll be "forever grateful" to Rangers after a decade at Ibrox.

The midfielder sealed a loan deal on Monday night, with an obligation to buy at the end of the current campaign.

The 22-year-old came through the Ibrox youth system, and captained their Under-20 side.

After 55 appearances for the first team McCrorie is moving on to Aberdeen but he expressed his gratitude to his former employers.

He wrote on Twitter: "After well over 10 years at Rangers FC I've finally decided it's time for me to move on and further my career.

"Everyone that has been involved in my journey within the club to get me to where I am today ever since I stepped in the door at nine years old I am forever grateful for your help to develop me as a player and also as the person I am today.

"To the fans, thank you for supporting me throughout the years, it's appreciated very much!

"All the best."

McCrorie has signed on until the summer of 2024, with a three-year contract agreed for when his loan ends and he's bought permanently.
