Ross King returns to Laois hurling panel after sitting out League campaign

Laois boss Eddie Brennan has been given a boost with the return of former captain Ross King to the panel.

King decided not to link up with the county team on the back of an incident in his club Rathdowney-Errill’s county final loss to Camross which left him with severe facial injuries.

Images emerged on social media days later of Camross players appearing to mock King and while Camross’s Darrell Dooley was proposed for a two-game suspension, it was subsequently quashed.

However, Laois Today reports that King has now gone back on his decision having sat out the entire League campaign and he looks set to come into the reckoning for their Joe McDonagh Cup opener against Offaly in Tullamore on May 11.

In his absence, Laois managed to avoid relegation from Division 1B though were well beaten by eventual winners Limerick in the League quarter-final.
