Ross Kemp inhales Spice so strong it left him unable to speak during HMP Belmarsh documentary

Ross Kemp has recalled the moment he got so high after inhaling Spice that he was left unable to speak.

The former EastEnders actor appeared on Good Morning Britain to talk about his upcoming documentary ‘Welcome to HMP Belmarsh’ on ITV.

In a short preview, Ross is seen inhaling from a prisoner’s vape and breathing in a tiny amount of Spice residue.

He told hosts Susanna and Ben that the drug leaves people in a ‘zombie state’.

Ross said: “I wanted to turn and do a piece-to-camera.

“I couldn’t speak. And I just had a little bit of residue.”

The type of Spice he inhaled is a potentially lethal combination of aluminium cleaner and insect killer called Man Down, and Ross said it ‘does exactly what it says on the tin’.

Ross was given a rare insight into the south-east London prison, which has held some of the UK’s most notorious criminals.

HMP Belmarsh prides itself on being able to take any prisoner, no matter how dangerous.

While the documentary was filmed, the prison was home to 187 murderers and 17 terrorists.

Welcome To HMP Belmarsh With Ross Kemp starts on Thursday, January 9, on ITV at 9pm.
