Ross County target Motherwell striker Jordan White

Ross County are lining up a move to bring Motherwell striker Jordan White in on loan.

White - who joined 'Well from County's Highland rivals Inverness in June - has failed to find the net for the Steelmen in 20 appearances this season, but Daily Record reports that John Hughes is keen on bringing the 28-year-old to Dingwall.

Motherwell, who lost 2-0 to Aberdeen on Saturday, head to the Highlands on Wednesday evening to face the Staggies in a Premiership clash.

White's last outing for the Steelmen came on January 9 in their 1-1 draw with St Mirren and has not featured for new boss Graham Alexander's side since.

The arrival of Harry Smith on loan from Northampton Town last week looks like limiting his game time, as the Steelmen currently favour a front three of Tony Watt, Devante Cole and Sherwin Seedorf.

Chris Long and Jake Hastie are also available in the forward positions.
