Ross County seeking Hibs postponement compensation as Staggies told to bill SPFL after call-off nightmare

Ross County have been told to put their bill into SPFL chiefs after the late cancellation of Saturday’s clash with Hibs.

The Staggies are unhappy their home game against Jack Ross ’s side was called off on Saturday morning.

The Highland club already had everything set-up and have lost a substantial amount in terms of lost hospitality costs, stewarding and club television costs.

County chiefs are looking to be compensated and have already gone to the league, who have asked them to submit their lost revenues in writing.

The Dingwall club are still waiting to see if those costs will be covered by the league or Hibs.

Hibs called off the game after two of their first-team stars tested positive at their Inverness hotel on Saturday morning.

The pair were with other members of Jack Ross’s squad and so there were a number of close contacts and it meant Hibs didn’t have enough to field a team at Ross County.

Hibs have been hit with a number of positive cases to key players and coaching staff over the last few weeks.

Saturday’s fixture has now been rescheduled for Wednesday night at the Global Energy Stadium although Hibs have made it clear they are unhappy with such a sharp turnaround.
