Ross Callachan 'wanted' in shock Hearts transfer return as he activate Hamilton release clause

Ross Callachan is wanted for a shock return to Hearts after activating a release clause in his Hamilton deal.

The boyhood Jambo spent a season at Tynecastle back in 2017/18 and scored four goals in 23 games before moving on to St Johnstone.

He then impressed during his year at Hamilton where he grabbed 10 goals in 32 league games for the relegated outfit.

And now the Scottish Sun say Hearts will battle it out with Livingston and a number of English clubs to sign the 27-year-old.

Callachan is available on a free transfer because of a clause that was put into his deal when he signed on at New Douglas Park.

And he has decided to activate it to try and continue his career in the Scottish Premiership or head south of the border.

Livingston are also interested in signing him with David Martindale reportedly a big fan of the midfielder.

Robbie Neilson is set to make a number of signings this summer as he looks to improve his squad for a Premiership push.

It's likely the majority of their signings will come from clubs down south on free transfers.
