Tuchel set for new deal
Thomas Tuchel is set to be rewarded with a new contract at Chelsea after helping guide his side to the Champions League trophy.
The German replaced Frank Lampard as the Blues boss in January and has had a monumental impact, coaching his team to European glory as well as a fourth-placed league finish.
Football.London understands that Tuchel held positive talks with Blues owner Roman Abramovich on Sunday morning just hours after the club lifted the Champions League trophy in Porto.
Abramovic, who initially handed Tuchel an 18-month deal, is convinced that the former PSG coach is the right man to lead Chelsea forward in the coming years after meeting him in person for the first time after the final whistle on Saturday night.
Tuchel said: "My desire is to grow as a coach and my desire is to push the group from the first day of the next season. This is what I am all about so it would be nice to meet him a bit closer.
"We are in contact, but not personally. We are in constant contact and he knows what’s going on from me indirectly and now it is nice to meet him."
Rudiger apologises to De Bruyne
Antonio Rudiger has apologised to Kevin De Bruyne after injuring the Belgian during Saturday's clash in Porto.
The German defender blocked De Bruyne with a cynical foul just before the hour mark of the final, fracturing De Bruyne's eye socket and nose in the process.
However, Rudiger took it upon himself to say sorry for the incident.
"I'm really sorry for De Bruyne's injury", the defender posted on Twitter.
"Of course this was not intentional from me - I've already been in touch with Kevin personally and I really wish him a speedy recovery and hope we can see him back on the pitch very soon again."
It was a classy touch from Rudiger, who was instrumental in his side's 1-0 victory over De Bruyne's Manchester City.
Newcastle and West Ham want Barkley
Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley has caught the eye of both Newcastle and West Ham ahead of this summer's transfer window.
Barkley, currently on loan with Aston Villa, is admired by both the Magpies and Hammers, according to a report from The Express and Star.
West Ham manager David Moyes has worked with the 27-year-old at Everton and may be interested in a reunion with the English playmaker.
Meanwhile, Newcastle could turn their attention to Barkley if they miss out on Arsenal's Joe Willock, who spent the second half of the season in the north east, scoring seven times in his last seven games at St James' Park.
The report claims that Chelsea will demand £30million from any potential suitor this summer.
