A "very chuffed" Rosie Ramsey is celebrating after being awarded a top South Shields honour.
Expectant mam Rosie, who is nearing her due date for her and husband Chris' new baby, took to Instagram to proudly pose with the commemorative trophy she'd been given after being made an Honorary Fellow of local theatre the Customs House, a place she is no stranger to having tread the boards there as a youngster.
Expressing her excitement in the caption next to the photo, Rosie wrote: "Thank you so much @customshousesouthshields for making me an honorary fellow!
"I’ve been performing here since I was a young girl and it’s never lost it’s sparkle and charm. It really is one of the most wonderful theatres.
"Feeling very chuffed and thankful right now."
The past year has been a devastating one for the arts, with the coronavirus pandemic forcing venues right across the country to close and places like the Customs House forced into making the heartbreaking decision to postpone their annual pantomimes, a tradition many families look forward to year after year.
Hoping there are better times to come for all those involved in the industry, Rosie added: "It’s been a really hard year for theatres and performers this year.
"We seem to have been completely overlooked since this whole mess began back in March.
"I hope and pray with every fibre of my being that the arts will return in 2021, and when we do we will be stronger than ever!

Rosie isn't the first person in the Ramsey household to be made a Customs House Honorary Fellow and, commenting on her post, husband Chris joked: "If you think you’re taking mine off the shelf to put yours up, you can f**k right off mate."
