Rosie O'Donnell spent more money on secret facelift than she ever has 'on a car'

Rosie O'Donnell spent more money on secret facelift than she ever has 'on a car'

Rosie O'Donnell paid more money for a facelift than she ever has "for a car".

The 64-year-old actress and comedian went under the knife in January after months of deliberating whether to have the treatment, following opposition from her 13-year-old daughter Clay, and she almost feels "shameful" at paying such a hefty price.

She wrote on her Substack page: "As I move on in my 60s

With a rejuvenated lower face

As if it happened naturally

It didn’t

It cost more money

Than I have ever paid for a car

- my privileged place in this world

And that feels almost shameful to me

The things I have -

Earned some say

But its the gross excess that wounds me (sic)"

Rosie used to think undergoing a facelift was a "betrayal", and she previously vowed to "never ever" have such surgery.

But after shedding 50lbs, she started to research such procedures.

She added: "I used to feel very strongly about facelifts

Not casually - morally.

I had assigned myself as head

of all women who would never - ever

I thought it was a betrayal.

Of feminism. Of aging.

Of our team of women worldwide.

And then I lost 50 pounds...

It wasn’t wrinkles -

it was gravity

I’d look in the mirror and think, this isn’t aging,

this is melting with intention.

There’s a point where acceptance

starts to feel like lying. (sic)"

Rosie's daughter Clay advised her against going under the knife, saying she "wouldn’t be able to respect" her mother if she went through with it, and advising her that other women "look up" to her.

Following Clay's comments, Rosie delayed her op "for months", before eventually deciding to go through with it.

She wrote: "I want them [her children] to grow up in a world

where they don't feel like they have to change

but also knows they can, if they want to,

without losing moral standing in their own life."

The former Rosie O'Donnell Show host - who previously earned the nickname "The Queen of Nice" - admitted "no one has noticed" since she underwent her facelift, and her teenage daughter has "not said a word".
