Rosie O’Donnell’s 17-year-old daughter Chelsea has been found and is ‘safe in police custody’ after being missing for almost a week.

The comedian and host of The View launched an appeal to find her daughter, who has mental health problems and had not been taking her medication, suggesting she may be in New York City.

Police confirmed she was found in a residence in South Nyack, New York, where O'Donnell lives, and when found she accompanied the police without incident.

It is not currently known what relationship O’Donnell had with the people who lived in the house.

O’Donnell tweeted the news, thanking people for their support and help in spreading the message.

“Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness. It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family and they just want her back safe.” said O'Donnell's spokeswoman, Cindi Berger, during the appeal.
