Rosie Johnson: Body found on Isle of Wight in search for missing Glasgow woman

Police searching for missing woman Rosie Johnson have found a body, Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed.

As reported on Glasgow Live , the Glasgow woman, 22, has been missing on the Isle of Wight since the weekend.

She was last seen at the PGL Little Canada activity centre in Wootton, where she has been working, on Sunday evening.

Police confirmed tonight: “We can confirm that officers searching for missing Rosie Johnson on the Isle of Wight have found a body of a woman in Wootton this afternoon.

“Formal identification procedures are ongoing but Rosie's next of kin have been made aware of the discovery.

“At this stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”

Police, volunteers and the coastguard have spent the week searching in and around Wootton Creek for Rosie. The appeal was also shared by Rosie’s uncle, Daniel Johnson, who is the Scottish Labour MSP for Edinburgh Southern.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends following today's sad news.
