Rosi: Lisa Goodwin-Allen to oversee new restaurant at the Beaumont Mayfair

A new restaurant from Lisa Goodwin-Allen is to open at the Beaumont Mayfair in September as the acclaimed chef begins a new role as culinary director.

Goodwin-Allen is best known for holding a Michelin star at Northcote, Lancashire, for more than two decades, and will oversee a new concept called Rosi at the hotel.

The menu at Rosi will be a reimagining of “playful, creative” classics, the Standard was told, with dishes that bring “wit, warmth, and tableside theatre”.

A changing roster of pies are to be “showstoppers”, while steaks will come from the Lake District and Hereford. A “Mayfair Millionaire’s Tart”, meanwhile, will be a “knowing nod to the affluence of the restaurant’s location”.

Rosi will take the place of the Colony Grill. Press material said the interior will change, moving away from the “clubby” and “masculine” feel of the space to better reflect its leading female chef.

Goodwin-Allen will be joined by executive chef Brendan Fyldes and new head chef Jozef Rogulski on the project. Rogulski most recently led the kitchen at the Game Bird at The Stafford, a position he held for eight years, and a restaurant Goodwin-Allen previously oversaw.

The concept and team have been brought together by The Beaumont’s CEO, Stuart Procter, as part of his ongoing transformation of the hotel. Procter was for many years in charge at The Stafford and has brought many of his old team over. The Stafford’s longstanding and much loved bar manager Benoit Provost has also moved over, and now leads the team at Le Magritte bar.

Procter said: “Rosi represents everything we love about British dining: seasonal ingredients, timeless dishes and genuine warmth.

“With Lisa at the helm and Brendan and Jozef by her side, we’re bringing a new energy to The Beaumont and reimagining what dining in Mayfair can feel like.”

Goodwin-Allen added: “I can’t wait to open the doors to Rosi, it’s been a joy working with Stuart, Brendan and Jozef to help create my London home.

“Rosi is a restaurant where the menu is full of dishes you really want to eat, and the atmosphere is just as inviting. I hope Rosi will be embraced by Londoners, just as I have been.”
