Roses greet students as schools reopen in Telangana

HYDERABAD: Students returning to schools which reopened in Telangana on Tuesday after a prolonged Sankranti vacation had a pleasant surprise in store for them in Siddipet. Officials and teachers welcomed each student by giving a rose.

Siddipet municipal commissioner Ravindar Reddy and municipal vice-chairperson K Manjula Rajanarsu visited the government girls school and junior college, and government high school at Medak road and welcomed the students with roses. The students were advised to maintain social distance, use masks and sanitisers and take all Covid-19 precautions. “All schools have been cleaned and sanitised in the town. Parents have sent their children to schools with enthusiasm. The managements should ensure Covid-19 norms are followed in all schools. Students with symptoms should immediately be given care and a Covid-19 test should be done,” Reddy said.

Siddipet additional collector Muzammil Khan visited the primary school and high school in Thimmareddypalli in Kondapaka mandal.

In Nagarkurnool, additional collector Manu Choudhary asked officials to give a report about the repairs that need to be done and facilities that need to be provided in gurukul schools and social welfare hostels.
