Rosenborg vs Linfield Champions League clash holds no fear for Blues boss David Healy

Linfield boss David Healy is under no illusions heading into tonight's Champions League renewal against Rosenborg - but insists his Blues are not going to Norway to make up the numbers.

The Irish League representatives have it all to do following last week's 2-0 first leg defeat at Windsor Park .

Goals from Mike Jensen and Alexander Soederlund have put Rosenborg firmly in control of this first qualifying round tie.

Despite the score - and odds - being against his side, Healy has urged his players to have no regrets when they step out at the Lerkendal Stadium (6pm kick-off BST).

"We know how difficult the tie will be. We knew how tough it would be last week," Healy said.

"I think the two goals we conceded were preventable, but that's football. Against these top sides you get punished.

"We certainly won't be underestimating them going into the second leg, but we are looking forward to it.

"We want to go out and put in a good performance and see where it takes us.

"I was delighted with the attitude of the players last week, and we have to take that same level of performance into Wednesday night."

Even if Linfield fail to overturn the 2-0 deficit, they will still have European football to look forward to this summer.

The losers of tonight's tie will face HB Torshavn in the second qualifying round of the Europa League.

"Whatever happens we will have another round of European competition so although the fitness levels of the players are good they will improve," he added.

"Hopefully by the time the start of the league season comes round we'll be able to hit the ground running on August 10."
