Rosemary Leach dies aged 81 after short illness

British actress Rosemary Leach has died aged 81 in hospital following a short illness.

Leach's agent Caroline de Wolfe confirmed her death in a statement, the BBC reported.

Leach was best known for a role in the 1986 film A Room with a View, for which she was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Her other outstanding roles include That'll Be the Day and 84 Charing Cross Road.

She is survived by her actor husband, Colin Starkey.
