
An off-duty Cook County sheriff’s deputy scared off an intruder by firing her gun on the Far South Side early Wednesday.
No one was hurt, officials said.
The deputy, 33, was inside a home in the 11400 block of South King Drive when she heard a person trying to gain entry through a window around 4 a.m., Chicago police said.
She fired one round and the intruder fled, police said.
No one was in custody.
