Roseanne Barr slammed for 'hateful' anti-Semitic rant claiming Holocaust 'never happened'

Roseanne Barr has been slammed for denying the Holocaust happened during a vile anti-Semitic rant on Theo Von's This Past Weekend podcast.

The Holocaust was the genocide of European Jews during World War II, between 1941 and 1945. During the horrific event, Nazi Germany and its collaborators murdered around six million Jews, which was around two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population.

Roseanne, who claims to be "100%" Jewish herself, spiraled off-topic while discussing the 2020 election in the United States.

“Like for the real truth that, you know, and I’m glad that they did set up all these guidelines so that we only are allowed to speak the truth,” she said.

“And the truth is that Biden got 81 million votes by winning 36 counties. And that is just incredible. It really, really is.”

Roseanne later continued by turning her political rant into a hateful speech: “And that is the truth. And nobody died in the Holocaust, either.

"That’s the truth. It should happen, though, six million Jews should die right now ’cause they cause all the problems in the world. But it never happened. It never happened — mandated.”

Podcast host Theo tweeted about Roseanne's comments and alleged that she was using "sarcasm" and "satire".

"Here is the full clip of Roseanne Barr obviously using sarcasm and satire," he wrote. "She is a mensch and one of the funniest people I've ever met."

In another tweet, he wrote: "This Roseanne Barr clip was sarcasm folks. A clip taken out of a long sarcastic rant she had during our chat. Can we not recognize sarcasm anymore?"

In a statement, Ronald Lauder, the president of the World Jewish Congress said that Roseanne's speech was "Nazism in its purest form" and called on both Apple Music and Spotify to remove the episode.

“I am calling on both Apple Music and Spotify to remove this content from their streaming libraries immediately, for as long as his hateful voice is carried on their platforms, they are in league with those who wish harm to Jews the world over," he told the New York Post.

Mr Lauder also stated that Theo's defense of Roseanne's ignorant comments was "equally offensive."
