Roseanne Barr claims coronavirus is plot to kill off rich boomers in wild conspiracy theory

Roseanne Barr has shared a wild conspiracy theory suggesting the coronavirus outbreak is a plot to kill off rich boomers.

The US comedian, 67, made the outlandish claims during an appearance on Norm MacDonald's YouTube series Quarantined With Norm MacDonald this weekend.

During a chat on the show, she was asked for her thoughts on the Covid-19 outbreak and Rosanne came up with a bizarre suggestion that it's part of a plot to "get rid of" her generation.

She said: "You know what it is, Norm? I think they're just trying to get rid of all my generation.

"The boomer ladies that, you know, that inherited their, you know, are widows.

"They inherited the money, so they got to go wherever the money is and figure out a way to get it from people."

The host, former Saturday Night Live star, Norm, 60, appeared to agree with her, replying: "There's so many boomers that have money and do no work.

"So if you got them out of society, that would be a good thriller."

Rosanne has long championed bizarre far-right conspiracy theories, famously accusing Bill and Hillary Clinton's daughter Chelsea of being married to a nephew of billionaire philanthropist George Soros.

Chelsea, who is married to banker Marc Mezvinsky, had to tweet a correction, writing: "Good morning Roseanne - my given middle name is Victoria.

"I imagine George Soros’s nephews are lovely people.

"I’m just not married to one. I am grateful for the important work @OpenSociety does in the world. Have a great day! "

The former sitcom star took her political leanings forward by running for US President in 2012 as a nominee for the Peace and Justice Party.

During her run, she accused the Obama administration of "contriving" the Boston Marathon bombing in a bid to "remove the 2nd amendment".
