Rose Leslie said she is “thrilled” to be expecting her first child with husband Hit Harington as she spoke out on her pregnancy for the first time.
It was revealed last month that the actress and fellow Game Of Thrones star Harington, both 33, were expecting a baby.
And after staying quite about the news for some time, the Scottish star has now broken her silence to tell of her excitement.
"I am thrilled to be expecting, and I can't wait to meet the new member of our family,” she told The New York Post.
She also spoke about getting a pandemic whippet puppy, and the couple’s difficulty training it.
“If we hadn’t been forced to stay behind our front door, we couldn’t properly train her and make sure she didn’t poop all over the house.”
The couple, who met on the set of Game Of Thrones, first confirmed the baby news in September when Leslie posed for a photo shoot with Make magazine.
She revealed her growing baby bump as she posed for a black and white shot.
The couple married in Scotland in June last year.
Harington starred opposite Leslie as lovers Jon Snow and Ygritte in Game of Thrones.
Ygritte was known for her catchphrase "You know nothing, Jon Snow".
Their on-screen romance came to an end when Ygritte was killed during the attack on Castle Black.
The couple’s engagement was formally announced in The Times.
The announcement said: "The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire."
