Rose Lavelle shared an awesome moment with a young fan named Rose Lavelle

Rose Lavelle, meet Rose Lavelle.

The U.S. Women’s National Team is fresh off its second straight World Cup title, and now, the players have returned to their club teams.

Lavelle, who scored the second goal of the USWNT’s 2-0 win over Netherlands, was back with her National Women’s Soccer League club the Washington Spirit (though she wasn’t available to play due to a hamstring injury) this weekend. And that’s when she met 7-year-old Rose Lavelle at Maryland SoccerPlex.

Yes, a fan by the same name.

The interaction was captured by NBC Sports Washington’s Brian McNally, and really, it was too great. The USWNT’s Lavelle was genuinely surprised and excited to meet a young fan by the same name.

“Is it really, no way! Wait, really,” Lavelle said to the young fan before sharing a photo.

Who knows? Maybe the USWNT will have two Rose Lavelle’s in its future.

The Spirit would fall, 2-1, on Saturday in front of a sellout crowd.
