Rose Ayling-Ellis shares unseen Giovanni snap in sweet tribute as she's made BBC Strictly champion for second time

Rose Ayling-Ellis has shared a gushing tribute to her time on Strictly Come Dancing after being made champion for a second time.

The EastEnders actress took to Instagram with a series of unseen snaps with her dance partner, Giovanni Pernice.

The pair emerged victorious back in December when they lifted the Glitterball Trophy during the final of the BBC One dance competition.

And after winning viewers' hearts on the show, they joined the Strictly 2022 live tour and wowed audiences across the country.

Rose and Giovanni and their fellow Strictly stars have put on 33 shows up and down the country on the programme's 2022 live tour in recent weeks.

But on Sunday night, the celebrities and professional dancers performed in their last show at London's O2.

And the Strictly favourites became the tour's champions, winning 31 out of a total of 33 shows and coming runner-up at the two shows they didn't win.

Giovanni already made fans cry as he shared a personal message to his Instagram page to Rose and now she had returned the favour.

"Six months ago, I didn't have a clue what I signed up for and to be honest I was terrified," the actress shared alongside the post.

"Now, I know for sure that it was the best decision I have ever made, what a crazy ride and life-changing experience it has been."

The social media post featured two polaroid photos of her alongside Giovanni - one in their Couple's Choice outfits in front of a glittery backdrop and the other in fluffy red ropes gripping onto a Glitterball trophy each as Giovanni planted a kiss on his dance partner's head.

Rose continued: "@giovannipernice, I am so grateful that you were part of my strictly journey. Thank you for telling my story and showing everyone who I am.

"Our friendship is so special and lasting for sure."

The soap star then went on to thanks fans before reflecting on what's next.

"Thank you to everyone who supported us, it has blown me away, you are the reason we got this far and made such an impact not just from dancing," she said. "Without you all, it would not have been possible.

"Now I am home, in my safe space with some calmness after the whirlwind that was strictly. I feel myself heading off to new adventures and I can't wait to see what happen next.

"But I will never forget everything that strictly has given me. Thank you, thank you, thank you."

Anf Giovanni delighted fans by commenting on Rose's post.

"Well done super star," the Italian dancer said with a string of hearts.

Strictly co-star Dan Walker said: "What a star you are Rose."

"Queen," professional dancer and Dancing On Ice judge Oti Mabuse wrote.

Former Strictly winner Ore Oduba also added: "You two… game changers!!!! Just congratulations."
