Rosanna Davison shares throwback baby bump photo ahead of twins' birthday

Rosanna Davison shared a thowback baby bump photo ahead of her twins' birthday, along with details of their birth.

The former Miss World gave birth to Hugo and Oscar on November 18, 2020 after having an early C-section.

She posted: “Throwback to this day last year and my final twin bump pic in hospital while being monitored by the wonderful team National Maternity Hospital.

“Hugo and Oscar weren’t due for almost another week when I attended my final routine scan this day last year.

“It was discovered that Oscar had grown significantly more than Hugo during the previous fortnight. I was told it was due to placental resistance in the final few weeks of pregnancy as they shared the placenta, so it was decided that the boys would need to be urgently delivered via C-section.”

The twins spent a week in NICU under care in the National Maternity Hospital before they were able to go home.

Rosanna shared the heart-warming post that was taken only hours before her boys were born.

“All was well in the end and my twinnies were born safely the next morning,” she wrote.

“They arrived at 35 weeks and spent just a week in the NICU being cared for by the most kind, reassuring, supportive and experienced team.

“We were lucky that they were in good health and were sent home with their proud parents after just a short stay compared to so many other babies.

“Today is World Prematurity Day and I think it’s important to acknowledge the numerous challenges faced by premature babies and their parents, and to be grateful for the teams of nurses, doctors and consultants who work incredibly hard to ensure that premature babies survive.

“The National Maternity Hospital has today launched a brand new, dedicated website, www.nmhnicu.ie to help parents of intensive care babies. It will be of huge benefit and support to parents and their families.”

Rosanna's two little boys were born just days before their sister Sophia's first birthday.

Rosanna and her husband Wes Quirke welcomed their oldest child and only daughter via surrogate after struggling with miscarriage for many years.
