Rosanna Davison shares sweet snaps to mark her granny's 95th birthday

Rosanna Davison has delighted fans sharing gorgeous images of her beloved granny's 95th birthday celebrations.

The former Miss World was in Wexford to mark the occasion and in the sweet pictures a casually dressed Rosanna poses alongside the birthday girl Maeve who is her father Chris De Burgh’s mother.

Maeve was born in 1926 and has lived quite the life.

While filming Who Do You Think You Are a decade ago Rosanna was shocked to learn that she and her grandfather had been involved in Cold War espionage.

These days she lives a far quieter life however and taking to Instagram Rosanna captioned the post simply: “Our birthday queen turns 95,” and her followers were quick to chime in commenting about the special occasion.

Broadcaster and author Maia Dunphy wrote: “Oh this is lovely!! Happy birthday Granny Davison!”

Visual artist Serena Caulfield also passed on birthday greetings commenting: “Ah, Happy birthday Mrs D. Maeve is looking great! Please pass on our birthday wishes from all in Ballyhealy xx”

While a fan wrote: "This is so so precious. She's gonna get that card at 100. Flying it. Makes my heart warm x”

Jackie McGrath sent Maeve a compliment saying: “Happy birthday Mrs Davison, your aging like a fine wine”

Rosanna also shared a sweet black and white photo of the pair (Rosanna Davison/Instagram)

Rosemary Gallagher was keen to point out how lucky Rosanna was to have her grandmother in her life. She commented: “That's Fabulous for your family to have her in your lives for so long! The memories and wisdom she has shared with you all will continue to impact the next generation.”

Allison Blowes said: “Happy Birthday! What a wonderful age! Gosh Chris looks just like his mum! Lovely pics! Thanks for sharing!”

Another user, Natalie Butler Cremascoli, wrote: “Happy birthday to your granny mine turns 90 next month. There’s something to be said about country Irish women.”

One cheeky follower actually tried to organise a date for Maeve with her grandfather, writing: “happy birthday! My grandads 100 tomorrow we should set them up”

Rosanna's twin boys only met her grandmother for the first time last month (WaterWipes)

Rosanna is very close to her Grandmother and just last month documented the first time her baby twin sons met her. She took to her Instagram to share a snap of her and her grandmother with one of her sons in her arms and she captioned it: "Today was a special one.

"Hugo and Oscar met their great-grandmother for the very first time."

In a second cute black and white snap of her grandmother with the other twin she wrote: "It's so important for us to have these photos and memories as she's a very special part of our lives."

Although the twins were born last November, Covid-19 restrictions prevented Maeve meeting them sooner.
