Rosanna Davison reveals plans to open health care clinic

Rosanna Davison said she is planning to open up her own nutrition and health care clinic.

The former Miss World told the Irish Daily Mirror she no longer considers herself a model, and wants to put her degrees to use.

The 34-year-old – who stepped up to launch Cystic Fibrosis Ireland’s 65 Roses Day today – said: “My plan is to open a nutrition clinic in the next few years... a health care clinic.

“It’s what I trained to do so I might as well do it.”

And following the success of Eat Yourself Beautiful and Eat Yourself Fit, Rosanna revealed the wheels are in motion for a potential new book.

She said: “ I’ve met with the publishers and we’re looking for new ideas.. something maybe more science focused because the degree I did was a science degree.

“I find people are really interested in it, most people know how to eat healthy and make the right choices but they want to know and are really interested in the science behind it and maybe the biochemistry behind it.”

When asked if she ever felt she had to work harder to be taken serious in her field of study because of her modelling background, she said: “I had to amass a few degrees and letters and things after my name to do that.”

But with three degrees under her belt, the Nutritional Therapist and former graduate of the College of Naturopathic Medicine and US-based Institute of Functional Medicine said she is now more confident.

Taking some time to finish her most recent masters with Middlesex University last year, Rosanna said she had taken a step back from the modelling gigs.

She said: “I don’t even know if I’d call myself a model at this stage I don’t do it as much anymore. It is more just the charity ones [photocalls] now.”

Despite suggesting an interest in moving away from the showbiz world, the Dubliner would love to get involved in prosect shows like Ireland’s Next Top Model, if the opportunity ever arose.

She said: “I feel like I could offer plenty of advice to someone looking to break into the industry. Yeah definitely if that came along.”

Rosanna was speaking yesterday at Government Buildings with Leo Varadkar to launch 65 Roses Day.

The campaign gets its name from the way in which young children often first say the words “cystic fibrosis”.
